Elevator Maintenance in Western Australia

Lift Breakdowns & Repairs

What should I do if my lift breaks down?

Give our friendly team a call on 9244 8148.

We’ll ask you a few questions about the elevator and what it’s doing (or not doing!) and troubleshoot with you over the phone. If we’re not able to resolve the error during our call, we’ll arrange to for a technician to attend.

You can choose whether you’d like your job booked in as an urgent callout for same-day assistance or as a non-urgent callout to save you money.

How do I avoid having my lift break down?

Make sure that your lift is maintained regularly by experienced and qualified lift technicians.

Don’t use the lift in the case of a power outage, or immediately following a power outage.

What should I do if I get trapped in lift?

Try to stay calm and breathe normally.

If there is a phone or call button in the lift, use that to request assistance and speak calmly in a clear voice.

If there’s no phone in the lift, use your mobile phone to alert someone nearby of your situation.

If you are trapped in a lift in Perth WA, you can call us on 9244 8148 for assistance.

How quickly can someone come out to look at my broken lift?

Easy Access Lifts offer 24 hour assistance for lift breakdowns and passenger rescue in Metro WA.

Repair work is scheduled into business hours to keep costs as low as possible.

Can you help with a breakdown if you didn’t install my lift?

Most likely, yes. Our lift technicians are experienced with a variety of different types of lift, including those installed by other companies. If you’re not sure, just ask us.

What areas do you service for lift breakdowns and repairs?

Easy Access Lifts can assist with lift breakdowns and repairs all over WA. Our depot is based in Malaga and our phones are monitored around the clock. Call our friendly team and we will be able to advise how quickly we can get to your area.

What happens during a breakdown callout?

The aim of a breakdown callout is to rescue any trapped passengers/goods, find where the fault was and to bring the lift back into working order as quickly as possible.

Our technicians travel with the most common wear and tear parts and consumables so that we can offer you minimal downtime and a continuously and safely operating lift.

How much will it cost to repair my lift?

Whether your job is booked as urgent or non-urgent, our breakdown call out fees include up to an hour of labour on site. Depending on the reason for the breakdown, additional labour or parts may be required to restore the lift to working order, so we won’t be able to give you an accurate costing until we know what we’re dealing with.

If extra works/time will be required, authorisation to proceed will be obtained from the site contact whilst the technician is on site.

If subsequent visits are required to complete repairs, these will be booked in within regular working hours at our standard hourly rate.

Scheduled Lift Maintenance

Scheduled Maintenance Visits

Why should I have regular maintenance on my lift?

Lifts are complex electrical/mechanical equipment that combine several moving parts and control systems. Like your car, they require specialised care to keep them running smoothly and increase the lifespan of parts.

If your lift is essential to access or mobility, you’ll want to keep it functioning like-new and avoid being caught off-guard with a lift breakdown or failure. Regular lift maintenance is the key to ensuring safety and protecting your asset.

How often should my lift be serviced?

Lift maintenance frequency is usually determined by the manufacturer’s recommendations and the usage of the lift.

We recommend all lifts and dumbwaiters be serviced at least annually regardless of their usage, but in general 6 monthly for domestic use.

Lifts or dumbwaiters in heavy or commercial use situations should be serviced quarterly.

What happens during a lift service?

Our fully trained and experienced lift technicians complete the maintenance on the lift as per manufacturer’s guidelines and a report is prepared and emailed for your records. The service includes checking, cleaning, lubricating and adjusting components.

Our technicians travel with the most common wear and tear parts and consumables so that we can offer you minimal downtime and a continuously and safely operating lift.

What happens during a service if my lift is broken?

Our maintenance services are scheduled back to back to keep costs to our clients low.

If we attend to complete a regular maintenance service and your lift is broken down, the visit will be treated as a breakdown repair and the regular maintenance may need to be re-booked if there is not time to complete it during that visit.

I don’t use my lift often, should I still get it serviced?

Yes. Even in a low-use situation, a lift should be regularly and properly maintained to ensure that it is safe to operate when needed.

Can you service my lift if I bought it somewhere else?

Most likely, yes. Our lift technicians are experienced with a variety of different types of lift, including those installed by other companies. Some lifts require specialised tools or proprietary equipment to complete the service. If you’re not sure if we service your type of lift, just ask us.
